Graciellie Design Guest Project: Traditional Christmas Card

Hi everyone, today I would like to show you my second guest design project for the month of September for Graciellie Design. This month’s release is totally suitable to create some fabulous Christmas cards! Today I’m showing you one idea. Let’s get started! Step 1: I started my card project by printing several of the leaf branches from the new “Keep Growing“ digital stamp set and the poinsettia flower image and also one of the sentiments from the new “A Christmas Hello“ digit

Whimsy Stamps Guest Designer - Penguin Cards

Hi everyone, I’m very excited to bring you another set of cards as a guest designer on the Whimsy blog! I created today’s cards with some of the gorgeous Whimsy Stamps digital stamps, digital sentiments and digital papers. This time, instead of my colored pencils, I used my alcohol markers to color the images. So, let’s get started! I first printed the adorable Whimsy Stamps “Penguin Flies“ and “Penguin Loves Watermelon“ digital stamps onto some Copic friendly paper (I printe

Colour Crazy Guest Designer - She Wolf

Hi everyone, today I’m showing you’ll the card that I created for my first guest design post over on the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog. If you don’t know what a challenge blog is then definitely go and check it out! I started my card by printing this gorgeous digital stamp from The Paper Shelter called “She Wolf“ onto some Canson 1557 paper (I like this particular paper because it takes coloured pencil well, it’s white and it’s thick enough but not to thick to run it through my

    Masculine Gel Press Cards

Hi everyone, first of all I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year! May all you wishes for 2018 come true! Today I’m on The Crafter’s Workshop blog showing you how to create a set of masculine cards for any occasion, for which I used a Gel Press mono printing plate. -------------------------------- The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own. This post also contains affiliate links. --------------

    Calender Month Series - August

Hi everyone, today I have what is already the eight instalment of this Calender Month Series for you all. The summer vacations are almost over, kids are getting ready to go back to school again (at least where I live) and we hope to have nice summery weather in September also! So, for this month’s page I’m working with a very light (but not pastel or dull) sort of green and a darker purplish-pinkish colour. And I figured that since I haven’t used any kraft coloured paper to c

Art Nouveau Bloom in Faber Castell Polychromos

Hi everyone, today I have another card project, where I use coloured pencils, for you all. As you can see that what is different about this card is it’s shape! I can’t remember another card where I used this round shape so it was a lot of fun trying this out. I started this card by using the biggest die in my round Crea-Nest-Lies XXL die set on a white square card base (on top you let the die hang over the square base a little so that the front and the back of the card are st

    Sending Butterflies

Hi everyone, today I'm on The Crafter’s Workshop blog with my first project as a design team member. For today's project I would like to show you how to create a set of cards using the so called “dry embossing with stencils” technique. When I think about stencils I usually also think about paints, inks or embossing paste, for today’s technique you don’t need any of these products! What you do need is a die cutting/embossing machine. And the best part about this technique is:

    Autumn Birthday Greetings

Hi everyone, you probably didn’t noticed but I was on summer vacation for a couple of weeks and though our vacation didn’t turned out the way we planned or hoped for (due to family circumstances), we did manage to have an awesome day at the zoo yesterday. We went to “Ouwehand’s Dierenpark“ in Rhenen, the Netherlands. Amongst all the wonderful animals we saw these beautiful flamingo’s. The weather was also nice for a change, so we really enjoyed ourselves. But, back to the car

    Leafs and Stripes

Today I have a set of fun cards for you without any colouring work: these are top folding cards for which I almost exclusively used dies. To start my first card I taped 2 rows of Elizabeth Craft Designs double sided tape (each 6,5 centimetre wide) to regular typing paper and started putting on strips of coloured paper in five different colours. After I finished the entire piece I die cut the Winnie & Walter “The Leaf Effect” cutaway out of the handmade striped patterned paper

    Beetle Birthday Card

Hi everyone! Today I have another set of birthday cards for the men in our lives for you all: I don’t know about you but I often struggle to create cards for guys. Mostly I test if something is okay by checking how my boyfriend reacts to what I create (I noticed that the bling bling factor for men is not on the same level as for women ....) and adjusting when his response is not what I hoped for. Well, let’s start today’s project: I stamped the “VW Bug” stamp from Deep Red st

    Feminine watercolour card

Hi everyone, today I have a card for you featuring a style that I don’t do a lot: I like having control over the products I use and knowing up front what the end result will look like and with today’s cards I had to let go a bit of the control. I do like mixed media though, so I still had a lot of fun creating these cards. I started my first card with a Stampin’Up stamp set called “Beautiful You” that I borrowed from a friend. I stamped on Cornwall Bright White Rough Watercol

    Calender Month Series - January

Hi guys, today I’m going to start a new fun series that will continue this entire year! We moved into our new house in May last year. It’s not a big house but it has enough rooms that my stepson could have his own place (which is important for a teenager) and my boyfriend wanted to use the attic for his sports and his computer and camera stuff. So that left one unused room and I made that my craft room. For some time now I had the idea to make a birthday calender to hang in m

Summary of Christmas cards for 2016

Since I started this website fairly recently I thought it to be best for this year to do a summary of some of the Christmas cards that I made (a “Christmas card for the men in your life” is not included in this post, see under Tab “Cards for Men” to find the post on that card or click http://www.makeyourlifecolourful.com/single-post/2016/12/17/A-Christmas-card-for-the-men-in-your-life) I will mention how to make a certain card and what materials I used. If you've any question
