Hi everyone, today I have this year’s Father’s Day card for you all, featuring one of the adorable Lili of the Valley stamps: this one is called “Vegetable Patch”.
I started this card by stamping the image on some Strathmore Colored Pencil paper with Versafine “Onyx Black” ink.
Then I started colouring with my Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils. I used the following colours: 115 / 118 / 151 / 157 / 146 / 271 / 272 / 189 / 132 / 165 / 112 / 188 / 186 / 102 / 180 / 283 and 101 (white, for burnishing).
After the colouring was finished I die cut around the image with the biggest die in the My Favorite Things “Stitched Rectangle STAX” die set. I edged this panel with Distress Ink in the colour “Antique Linen” and a little with a Prima Marketing Metallic Chalk Edger in the colour “Copper”.

For my background I die cut three panels: one rectangle from some slightly shiny matching dark blue linen textured card stock and a slightly larger stitched rectangle panel from the same paper as I used for the colouring and also a bigger square from matching slightly shiny dark brown linen textured card stock (the shiny papers gave this card a special feel). I used a crème coloured linen textured card as my base. I edged the card base and the stitched rectangle die cut panel with the same colours as used before.
Next I adhered the blue and the crème panel to each other using liquid glue and I mounted these combined panels to the brown square with one millimetre thick foam tape. Then I wrapped some backer’s twine around these combined panels, adhering the twine to the back of the brown panel with regular tape, to create a more interesting background. These combined panels I adhered to the card base with one millimetre thick foam tape.
Then I created the top layers by foam mounting the stamped and coloured panel over the top with one millimetre thick foam tape (adding up to three layers where it was needed (because of the underlying mats).

For my sentiment I choose the “Happy Farther’s Day” from the Winnie & Walter stamp set called “The Big, the Bold and the Happy”. I stamped this sentiment on some matching green card stock using the same black ink as before. Then I die cut a banner for the sentiment with the middle size die from the Lawn Fawn “Everyday Sentiment Banners” die set and edging this banner with Memento’s “Cottage Ivy” ink. I adhered this sentiment banner with one millimetre thick foam tape and Ranger Medium Matte.
And for my finishing touch I glued on some chipboards featuring gardening tools, from my stash (I think I bought them on some craft show I was at). I feel they fitted the scene nicely!
That’s it for today, until the next time, have a creative day!
