Hi guys, it's the last day of June, so today I have the sixth instalment of my Calender Month Series for you all: I can’t believe the first half year of 2017 is already over, time flies by!
If you don’t know what this series is about then check out my other five posts, you can find links at the bottom of this post.
So, let’s get started: this month’s page is giving me a greyed out green and a light yellow colour to work with and the stamp that I used for this page is fitting these colours so well. First I stamped the adorable dragon called “Freddie” (Whimsy Stamps) onto some Canson 1557 Extra White paper with Memento “Espresso Truffle” ink and I coloured him with my Faber Castell Polychromos. I used the following colours: 132 / 103 / 102 / 185 / 187 / 180 / 172 / 165 / 126 / 225 and 146.

Next I die cut him out with the biggest die in the My Favorite Things “Stitched Rectangle STAX” die set and created a mat in a dark maroon red colour that fitted the image nicely (I adhered the panel with liquid glue and free hand cut around it using scissors).
Since I wanted all the attention to go to this supercute dragon I kept the background very simply: I free hand cut a piece of patterned paper in the size I wanted and then I placed the “Mini Leafy Branches” stencil from The Crafters Workshop on there and applied the following Memento ink colours over it: “Cottage Ivy”, “Olive Grove” and “Dandelion” (to give the green leaves a more yellow glow). After the ink dried sufficiently I splattered on some FineTec Pearlcolor in “Rose” and I sat this background panel aside to dry. And finally I applied some “Clear” Wink of Stella over the leaves created with the stencil.

When everything was fully dry I adhered the background panel to the calender page with one millimetre thick foam tape, I adhered the dragon into place with one millimetre thick foam tape and I finished this project with some matching sequins for some added sparkle: I used Pretty Pink Posh sequins in “Lemon Meringue”, Cartwright’s Sequins in “Satin Gold” and some sequins from my local craft store.
And that’s it for today’s page! I love working on this calender project, it’s so much fun!
