KGC New Release Blog Hop: Kindness ATC‘s + Giveaway!

Hi everyone, I’m very excited to bring you today’s project, because the stamps and sequins that I use today are part of the brand new Kennedy Grace Creations release!

In this release are three new stamp sets and lots of new sequin mixes! This post is also part of a blog hop that I do together with my fabulous design team members to celebrate this awesome new release. We’ll all show you the gorgeous new stamp sets and what you can do with them.

I hope you have lots of fun along the way!

For this blog hop I choose to work with the new Kennedy Grace Creations “Kindness Medley“ stamp set and I decided on creating a set of ATC’s (Artist Trading Cards). ATC’s are the size of a sport collectable card (6,4 x 8,9 cm).

So, to get this project started I measured the above size on some Cornwall, Grain Fin, Bright White, 450 grms watercolour paper three times and cut the pieces with regular scissors. Then I distressed the edges using a distressing tool (you can also use your scissors).

Next I stamped the flowers from the Kindness Medley stamp set onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper with Versafine “Onyx Black” ink and I clear heat embossed afterwards. I coloured all the flowers in the same way using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and my Pentel Aquabrush.

The most important thing you need to know for colouring is on what side the sun/light source is hitting the flowers, so you know where the shadows will be. In this case that means that you should have the lay out of the ATC already ready (I did this by placing the sentiment stamps that I wanted to used on the ATC’s and deciding how I wanted to arrange the flowers).

I used the following colours of Zig Markers: Light Violet, Purple, May Green, Deep Green, Mid Brown and Shadow Mauve. I also added some details with a white Gelly Roll pen. When the colouring was dry I fussy cut the flowers with my Fiskars scissors.

Then I started working on the ATC background: as mentioned before I choose three sentiments from the Kindness Medley stamp set and in this step stamped them onto the ATC cards, one on each, using the same Onyx Black ink. I choose a The Crafter’s Workshop stencil called “Celtic Design“ (TCW732s) and applied Nuvo Glimmer Paste in the colour “Silver Gem“ over the stencil using a palette knife and then set all the ATC’s aside to dry. When the glimmer paste was dry I splattered on some FineTec Pearl Color in the colour “Mint“. To finish the background I edged the ATC cards first with Archival Ink in the colour “Cactus Flower“ and then a little with Archival Ink in the colour “Jet Black“.

Now it’s time to put the ATC‘s together: on each ATC card I adhered the fussy cut flowers using 3D kit and to finish the ATC‘s I adhered some sequins from the new Kennedy Grace Creations “Beach Side Bliss“ sequins mix with Ranger Medium Matte. On the back of the ATC’s I added my name, date and number of the series.

This is what the new “Kindness Medley“ stamp set looks like and also some of the new sequin mixes ("Beach Side Bliss" is on the right hand side).
