Hi everyone, today I have another card for you that I created especially for the Kit and Clowder “Christmas Card Swap“: how does this event exactly work? You could sign up for the card swap on the Kit and Clowder Facebook page, you get assigned a designated partner, you create a card for that person and that person for you and then you sent each other the card. The card should be Christmas themed. You have about two weeks to create and sent the card.
It’s such a fun event and today I would like to show you the second card that I created (I did two swaps with different persons)!
I started my card by stamping Whimsy Stamps “Holly“ onto some Copic friendly paper, then I coloured the image using my Copic Sketch markers. I used the following colours: R43, R29, R89, E000, R00, E11, G12, G16, BG75, B39, Y11, Y19, Y26, YR27, E50, E21, E27, E57, E59, E89, C00, C4, T4, W00, W3 and B0000. After the colouring was done I die cut around her using a square die from a nesting die set. I applied some Stickles in the colour “Diamond” on her wings and set this panel aside to dry (wash your brush because Stickles acts like a glue).

The rest of the card is pretty much build with layers of patterned paper: look in your stash what you have and search for matching green and red colours. The papers I used are from a paper block from a local craft store.
I die cut a slightly larger panel from green patterned paper and also my biggest mat from this same paper, using stitched square dies in different sizes. For an additional red element and to create a bit more of a playful background I die cut a colourful in between panel from a different sheet of the same paper block.
After the Stickles were dry I adhered the matching mats together using liquid glue.
Then I started working on the sentiment: I stamped one of the sentiments from the Clearly Besotted stamp set called “Say What?’’ onto some black card stock using VersaMark ink and heat embossing with Stampendous “Detail White“ embossing powder. Next I die cut a banner around this sentiment using the Clearly Besotted “Long Flag Die“.
Now it’s time to put all the elements together: I adhered the smaller set of mats onto the larger set of mats using one millimetre thick foam tape, then I placed the banner where I wanted it using two millimetre thick foam tape on part of the banner and folding it around the back, adhering it there with regular tape. This combination of mats I adhered to a white card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And for my finishing touch I adhered some sequins in different colours and sizes using Ranger Medium Matte.
I hope you enjoyed and I wish you’ll a creative day!
