Hi everyone, today I have a fun and easy male birthday card for you all. To get this card started I stamped a Lili Of The Valley image called “Vegetable Patch” onto some Strathmore “Colored Pencil” paper with Versafine “Onyx Black” ink and I coloured the image with my Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils. I used the following colours: 155 /168 / 173 / 115 / 186 / 188 / 132 / 189/ 231 / 271/ 272 / 175 /101 (white: for burnishing) and Holbein “Naples Yellow” (from the Pastel Tone Set that you can buy on Ebay).
After I finished colouring I cut the image with the largest stitched rectangle die from the My Favorite Things “Stitched Rectangle STAX” die set. Then I matted this piece onto some matching burned orange card stock with liquid glue and free hand cut around to create a matte one size bigger then the stitched panel.
For my background I die cut a panel from some matching turquoise coloured textured card stock with a die in the size I wanted (using one of the dies from my Crea-Nest-Lies XXL rectangle nesting die set). I adhered the coloured panel with the orange matte onto this turquoise panel with one millimetre thick foam tape leaving room around the edge to put the rounded die cut squares underneath. For the next step I first wrapped around some fun sentiment ribbon and adhered that to the back with regular tape and then adhered the combined panel to a crème coloured linen textured card base with one millimetre thick foam tape.
And for my finishing touch I die cut two shapes with the CreaLies “Decorette” dies (CLDR12: these are intertwined small rounded squares) from some shiny dark brown card stock, cutting them in parts that fitted the design I was going for, tucking them underneath the panel that I already adhered to the card and adhering them with a Tombow Glue Pen.
And that finishes today’s easy and fun male birthday card!
I wish you all a creative day!
