Hi everyone, today I’m showing you’ll the card that I created for my first guest design post over on the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.
If you don’t know what a challenge blog is then definitely go and check it out!
I started my card by printing this gorgeous digital stamp from The Paper Shelter called “She Wolf“ onto some Canson 1557 paper (I like this particular paper because it takes coloured pencil well, it’s white and it’s thick enough but not to thick to run it through my printer). I die cut around the image using one of the dies in my stitched square nesting die set.
Then I coloured the image using my Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils. I used the following colours: 132, 189, 231, 232, 271, 272, 112, 165, 187, 283, 177, 199, 147 and 126. The colouring took a while but I really love how it turned out!
Since I printed the image fairly large I kept the background simple: I die cut a square panel from some matching green patterned paper and then adhered the coloured image on top using one millimetre thick foam tape.

Next I started working on the sentiment. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Altenew “Persian Motifs“ stamp set using Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink onto some light yellow card stock and die cut a banner from it using the smallest die in the Lawn Fawn “Everyday Sentiment Banners“ die set. I also die cut a banner from vellum using the middle sized die in this same banner die set.
I adhered the banners together using see through tape runner, then adhered the combined banners to the card using see through tape runner and wrapping it around the left side and adhering ad the back using regular tape.
And then it’s already time to finish this card: I adhered the combined panels with the banners on a square white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape and I embellished my card with some Cartwright’s Sequins in the colour “Satin Copper“ in different sizes adhering them with Ranger Medium Matte.
Thank you Ruth for having me as a guest designer, I loved creating this card for the challenge!
I’m wishing you’ll a creative day!
