A Sweet Birthday

Lindy's Stamp Gang

Hi everyone, today I would like to show you my take on the Lindy’s Stamp Gang February 2018 Challenge theme. You can find all the details about this challenge here: https://lindysgang.blog/2018/02/01/february-2018-challenge/

For this challenge we’re given a Mood Board with lots of pinks and the theme is Sweet, if you like to ad an extra element to it!

Lindy's Stamp Gang

I started my project by stamping the flowers from the Altenew stamp set called “Persian Motifs“ onto watercolour paper using VersaMark ink. Then I heat embossed with Lindy’s Stamp Gang “Magic Moon Pearls“ embossing powder. In the end I only used two of the flowers on the front of the card, the last one I put on the inside for an extra fun surprise for the sweet birthday girl!

Next I started colouring the flowers with Lindy’s beautiful Magicals, Magical Shakers and Starburst Sprays. I used the following colours: I started With Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in the colour “Hi Maintenance Magenta“ and I mixed the colour with water on my craft sheet and applied with a small brush. Later on I added some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in the colour “Sweet Violet Purple Teal“ to create more depth in my flowers. I sprayed some of the product on my craft sheet and applied the colour with the same small brush.

Do you see the fabulous shine these combined colours create! Love!

For the leaves I first used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in the colour “Clam Bake Beige“ and then added more depth with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shaker in the colour “Bratwurst Brown“. Then I needed another colour for around the outline of the flowers and for this I choose the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shaker in the colour “Oom Pah Pah Pink”. I added all these colours in the same way to my project as the other colours before.

Now that I finished colouring the flowers and everything is dry I fussy cut all the elements using my Fiskars scissors.

Then I started working on the background panels: I die cut one square panel from white card stock and painted some “Sweet Violet Purple Teal“ on the edge with a brush and used a heat tool to dry. Then I die cut another slightly smaller square panel from watercolour paper and first stamped one of the sentiments from the Kennedy Grace Creations “Splendid Roses“ stamp set on this panel using Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink and my MISTI. Then I applied some The Crafter’s Workshop “Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste“ over a The Crafter’s Workshop stencil called “Stencil Damask“ (TCW242s) using a palette knife and let that dry. When the modeling paste was dry I added the same “Oom Pah Pah Pink“ magical shaker to the background panel and sprayed with water. I let the colour run and dried the panel when I was happy. This I did a couple of times adding a little bit of extra colour at a time.

When I liked the end result I added some splatters with Coliro Pearl Colors by Finetec GmbH in the colour “Moon Gold“ to create a bit more interest in the background and when that was dry I adhered these square panels together using liquid glue and put them in a book to flatten out a little.

Now it’s time to put my card together. I die cut the largest square panel from some craft coloured card stock (this brought the whole colour theme together as it’s almost the same as the brown leaf colour) and adhered the other two panels to this panel using liquid glue. These combined panels I adhered to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

To make the flowers stand out a little bit more from the background I edged each fussy cut flower with Archival Ink in the colour “Sepia“ using a foam applicator tool and then I can finish this card by adding all the loose flower elements to the card using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that’s is for today’s project!

This is not a colour combination I would normally choose but I had a blast creating this project and I really love the end result!
