Hi everyone, welcome to my stop in the Altenew March Release Blog Hop. If you came here from the super-talented Enza Gudor then you’re right on track (but you can always go back to the beginning HERE).

I’m very excited to be having the honour to guest design for Altenew (thank you May!)
I had so much fun creating the cards that I would like to show you today! This release has a bit of a vintage feel for me, especially the new layering roses stamp set. And if you would like to know my favourite item of this fabulous release, it’s the new mandala die, it’s huge and it’s very versatile (it consists of two parts but you don’t have to use them together, as I will show you)!
Warning: this is a picture heavy and long post! So, let’s get started!
I made a total of six cards which can be separated in three sets.

Set 1:
This first set is it’s base a set of circle shaped cards with some layers on top.

For the first card I die cut the beautiful new Altenew “Mandala Die“ from some white card stock, then die cut a circle shape in the same size as the card from this and heat embossed the created mandala shape twice with Altenew “Rose Gold“ Crisp Embossing Powder. Then I stamped part of the new Altenew “Mega Succulent“ stamp set with Altenew “Forest Glades“ ink (from the Altenew Mini Cubes “Green Fields“ ink set), on some white line textured card stock and I die cut circles from this, I used every other circle and adhered those to the mandala shape that I created before. The mandala was adhered to a circle die cut created from white linen textured card stock (and the same size as the card base) using liquid glue.

For the sentiment I stamped with black ink on vellum using two sentiments from the new Altenew “Mega Succulent“ stamp set and I clear heat embossed afterwards. Then I cut a strip from the vellum and adhered that to the layers of circles and adhered on the back using regular tape. Now all I have to do is to adhere these combined layers to my circle shaped card base using one millimetre thick foam tape and ad some embellishments to my project.

For my second card in this set I also die cut a mandala shape from some white linen textured card stock but then used a circle shaped die that’s slightly smaller then my circle shaped card base. I also created a circle shape from some crème coloured card stock and adhered the mandala shape to this circle using liquid glue.
Next I used the new Altenew “Mega Succulent“ stamp to stamp on vellum using VersaMark and heat embossed with Altenew “Rose Gold“ Crisp Embossing Powder. From this vellum piece I die cut a circle that I adhered to the mandala shape using see through tape runner.

For the sentiment I choose one of the sentiments from the Altenew “Birthday Builder“ stamp set, I stamped the sentiment on olive green linen textured card stock using black ink and cutting a strip that I adhered to the layers I already created, folding around the back and adhering there using regular tape.
Now I can adhere these combined layers to the circle shaped white linen textured card base and to finish this card I embellished with some matching sequins.
And that’s it for the first set of cards! I think that first card can be a wedding card, don’t you think, very elegant? I love this new “Mandala Die“, so you will see more of this on one of my other cards!

Set 2:
My second set of two cards features the new Altenew “Sweet Rose Bouquet“ stamp set, you see what I mean with the vintage feel these cards have?

My first card in this set looks like a piece of vintage wall paper I think. I started with a rectangle piece of Canson XL Watercolor paper (which is crème coloured). Then I used one of the single leaf stamps in the “Sweet Rose Bouquet“ stamp set and used second generation stamping with Altenew “Frayed Leaf“ ink (from the Altenew Mini Cubes “Green Fields“ ink set) and stamped repeatedly to create the faint background design.

On top I layered the “Sweet Rose Bouquet“ stamp set the way it is designed to work: I love how the back of the stamp packaging shows how you can easily build the layers on top of each other. Because I used watercolour paper (which is not completely flat), I used my MISTI to be able to repeatedly stamp the same layer in exactly the same spot. For my red colour I used the Altenew Mini Cubes Ink Set that’s called “Red Sunset“ and for the greens I used the Altenew Mini Cubes Ink Set that’s called “Green Fields“. Next I stamped the sentiment which is from the new Altenew “Mega Succulent“ stamp set, that I used before, and I stamped with black ink using my MISTI.
Now the only thing I have to do is creating a slightly bigger mat from matching card stock, adhering those two layers together using liquid glue and adhere these combined layers to a crème coloured linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

For the second card in this set I first stamped the sentiment, which is from the Altenew “Birthday Builder“ stamp set, on the same watercolour paper, hence I’m using my MISTI for this entire card. The MISTI also makes it super easy to align all the little elements from this gorgeous rose layering stamp set in exactly the right place. Then I’m stamping all the rose elements twice in the same way as I did with the first card in this set using the same Altenew inks.

When I’m done with the stamping I’m running this panel through my die cutting machine with the new Altenew “Dotted Scales Debossing Cover Die“ and that’s how I created the fun background design for this card.
Now the only thing I have to do is to create a matching slightly larger mat and adhering these two layers together using liquid glue and adhered these combined layers to a crème coloured linen textured base using one millimetre thick foam tape. I love how this card turned out!

Set 3:
Still reading? Great, because I have another fun set to show you and I love how the olive green and bright pink work together in the set of cards.

For my first card in this set I stamped the third layer of the flowers and the second layer of the leaves from the new Altenew “Sweet Rose Bouqet“ stamp set onto Strathmore “Bristol Smooth Surface Paper“ using VersaMark ink and heat embossing with Altenew “Rose Gold“ Crisp Embossing Powder. All elements are stamped and heat embossed separately!
Then I coloured all the elements using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and my Pentel Aquabrush. I used the colours: Sugar Almond Pink, Dark Pink, Deep Red, Mid Green, Olive Green and Haze Blue. When the colouring was done and the paper dry I fussy cut all the little elements.
Next I’m working on my light blue background panel (which is about the same colour as the Haze Blue Zig Marker). I cut a rectangle and run that through my die cutting machine with the new Altenew “Dotted Scales Debossing Cover Die“, creating a gorgeous background design. This piece of blue card stock I layered on a piece of matching orange card stock that’s slightly larger.

Now I can adhere all the flowers and leaves using one millimetre thick foam tape and Ranger Medium Matte. Everything sticking out of the orange panel I cut of with my scissors.
For my sentiment I choose one of the sentiments from the Altenew “Beautiful Day“ stamp set, that I stamped on a piece of purple card stock using black ink and I then I cut a banner shape from this and also a slightly larger banner from vellum. These two banners I adhered together and then I adhered the combined banners to the layers that I already created, folding around the back and adhering there using regular tape.
To finish this fun spring card I adhered these combined layers to a crème coloured linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And now we have finally arrived at my last card for this hop!
You remember that I mentioned another card where I would use the new Altenew “Mandala Die“? This is it! I started my card by die cutting the mandala shape (using both dies that come in this die set) from some pink felt. Then I die cut the mandala shape from some olive green linen textured card stock, making sure that I had enough room left on the left side of the mandala die to create a rectangle shape (on the olive green card stock I only used the inner die from the mandala die set!), this way the mandala filigree work shows but it’s still attached to the olive green card stock. Then I created the rectangle shape from the olive green card stock including part of the filigree work from the mandala.
Now I can attach the pink felt mandala on top of the olive green rectangle mandala panel using Ranger Medium Matte. I turned the pink felt mandala to make it of set with the olive green card stock. Then I cut of the felt excess on the right hand set.
Next I’m creating a slightly larger mat from some crème coloured linen textured card stock and adhering the other layers on top using liquid glue.

For my sentiment I choose a combination from the new Altenew “Mega Succulent“ stamp set and stamped that with VersaMark onto black card stock and heat embossing with Altenew “Rose Gold“ Crisp Embossing powder. I created a banner shape with a punch and adhered the banner to my project using one millimetre thick foam tape and liquid glue, folding the left part around the back and adhering on the back using regular tape.
Now the only thing left to do is to adhere these combined layers to a craft coloured card base and embellish the card with some sequins.
And that’s the last one of today’s fun set of cards!
