Hi everyone, today I would like to show you my take on the March 2018 Lindy’s Stamp Gang Challenge Mood Board. You can find more details about this challenge here: https://lindysgang.blog/2018/03/01/march-challenge/

Today I’m working in my Winsor & Newton Heavy Weight Wire-O Sketch Book. I started my project by cutting two watercolour panels in the size that I wanted (which for me is: 14,5 x 20,5 cm for each panel). Next I pencilled in the quote that I wanted to use on the right hand page: I used a graphite pencil for this and when I liked what I had I went over the lines using a (black) Faber Castell PITT Artist Pen (s), once dry this ink is waterproof. I used a calligraphy style that I taught myself as a child.

Then I applied some The Crafter’s Workshop “Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste“ over one of the beautiful new The Crafter’s Workshop stencils called “Free Swirl“ (TCW778s) using a palette knife and set that aside to dry. This I did several times to cover the space that I wanted covered.

When the modeling paste was dry it was time to ad my first colour to the project: I applied some of the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in the colour “Bling-y Blonde“ to the project using a fan brush and then added water with a spray bottle. This makes the colour run and when I liked the results I dried with a heat tool. This I did on several places of the lay out.

For my next step I’m going to cut four pieces of watercolour paper and ad colour to each panel in the same way: spray the watercolour panel with water, ad magical in the desired colour using a fan brush, spray more water to make the colour run, dry when ready. Because I'm working on a glass craft mat (Tonic Studios) now I have water with colour from the project on the glass mat. Now I'm dabbing the watercolour panel in the colour pool on my craft mat where I want additional colour and then dry. Then I’m mixing some magical in the same colour with water and splatter on the panel with a regular paint brush (these spatters are more concentrated colour and will show up on the background).

I created four panels this way with the following colours:

- Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in the colour “Hi Maintenance Magenta“;

- Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in the colour “Shabby Turbine Teal“;

- Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in the colour “Witch’s Potion Purple“;

- Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in the colour “Drop Dead Gorgeous Green “.

Now I’m ready to punch out and die cut all the little flowers, leaves and one butterfly that I need for my project: to die cut the leaves I used two of the dies from the Precious Marieke die set with number “PM10096“, for the butterfly I used one layer of vellum and one layer with the green Magical panel and the butterfly die is from Joy Crafts with “number 6002/0322“. For the flowers I used the Stampin Up “Petite Petal“ Punch.

Before adhering all the little elements to my page I added some pink splatters to the yellow background with the pink Magical in the same way that I created the splatters on the watercolour panels.

Next I’m going to arrange all the elements on my pages and adhere them using Ranger “Glossy Accents“. This process takes a while but I had a lot of fun going through the process to create the image that I had envisioned in my mind.

When everything was adhered I edged the panels with some Archival Ink in the colour “Sepia“ using a foam applicator tool, to create a bit definition, and then I adhered the pages to my journal using gel medium.

And to finish this fun art journal page I added some Stickles in the colour “Mercury Glass“ to the hearts of the flowers and the body of the butterfly and set that aside to dry!
