Hi everyone, today I have an especially fun card project to show you!
Not that long ago I received some of the fabulous Spellbinders dies to create a project with. Spellbinders has lots of gorgeous and elegant dies in their collection, but also some fabulous stamps, if you haven’t checked them out already then you totally should!
Today I created a set of cards that has an elegant feel to them and using the same supplies on both cards to show you the versatility of them!

Card 1:
For my first card I used the Spellbinders “Eau de Lavande“ die set (S5-321) which comes with 4 different dies of which I used two today. I started my project by die cutting and embossing (which this die does too) the largest die shape from some matte gold card stock. Then I cut the die cut shape in half using my scissors. Next I adhered them back together overlapping them about a centimetre (because I wanted the swirls to be closer to each other).
Then I created my rectangle base panel that’s slightly smaller then my card base. For this I used white linen textured card stock. From a piece of left over card stock I next die cut another shape with this die (you don’t have to do the embossing part): this die cut shape I will use as a template in combination with some Nuvo Glimmer Paste. I decided where I wanted my design to be and then applied some of the Nuvo Glimmer Paste in the colour “Golden Crystal“ over the template using a palette knife and set that aside to dry.
In the meantime I worked on my quote/sentiment: for this I choose a stamp from Quietfire Design with number #5595 and stamped that onto some crème coloured card stock using Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink and using my MISTI. Then I die cut around the sentiment using one of the smaller dies in this same beautiful “Eau de Lavande“ Spellbinders die set.

When the Glimmer Paste was dry I can now put this first card together: I wrapped some matching crème/light yellow coloured ribbon around the rectangle panel and adhered ad the back using regular tape. Then I added the large matte gold die cut element to the panel using one millimetre thick foam tape and cut of the part hanging of the left side using my scissors. And then I could ad the sentiment to the front of the card also using one millimetre thick foam tape.
To finish my first card I now only have to adhere these combined layers to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

Card 2:
For my second card I used two die sets from Spellbinders, the first one is the same as I used for my first card and the second one is the Spellbinders “Lavender Trike“ die set (S4-838), which I only used partially.
Let’s get started: as with my first card I used a rectangle panel slightly smaller then my base card. Then I created two die cuts with the “Lavender Trike“ die and cut of some pieces with my scissors. Now I have the templates that I will use for my background design on this card. In two sessions I applied the same colour of Nuvo Glimmer Paste over the templates using a palette knife and set it aside to dry (I dried the paste in between the two sessions to not ruin what I already had).
Then I worked on my quote/sentiment: for this card I choose another Quietfire Design stamp: #6285. I stamped it on the same crème coloured card stock that I used on my first card and die cut it with the same die from the “Eau de Lavande“ die set (that I used on my first card), but now horizontally. I also created a die cut with this die from the same matte gold card stock that I used on my first card and cut that in two in the middle and then adhered the two pieces to the die cut shape with the sentiment using liquid glue. This created such a gorgeous element in the background!

Now I can put my card together: I adhered the ribbon over the card in the middle, wrapped it around the back and adhered there using regular tape. Then I adhered this panel to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And to finish this second card I adhered the two layers with the sentiment on the front of the card also using one millimetre thick foam tape.
And that’s it for today’s fun card designs!
I love how both of today’s card turned out! So very elegant and not my usual style!
Let your supplies inspire you to create whatever you like and look outside your comfort zone, you might surprise yourself!
Thank you Spellbinders for sending me the dies for today’s project to work with, I had a blast playing with them! And thank you Yana for contacting me!
I wish you a creative day!
