Hi everyone, today I would like to show you a fun and cute card that I created for Mother’s Day, which is this weekend (at least where I live)!
To get this card started I stamped an older Joy Crafts stamp called “Lily met Tulpen“ (Lily with Tulips / 6410/0009) on some Strathmore “Toned Tan“ paper using Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink and my MISTI.
Next I coloured the image using coloured pencils: I choose some Holbein Artists‘ Colored Pencils, some Prismacolor coloured pencils and some Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils to work with today, and for my highlights, as always I used a Caran d ‘Ache Luminance pencil in “White“.
Of the Holbeins that I have I used: Rose Pink, Ice Green and Wisteria (from the Pastel Tone set that you can buy on Ebay).
For the skin I used some Prismacolor pencils: Creme, Beige, Light Peach and Peach.
And from the Faber Castell Polychromos line I used: 123, 155, 137, 103, 187, 177, 283 and 250.
When the colouring was done I added some highlights to the eyes with a white Gelly Roll Pen and I brought back in some of the black lines (that I lost during colouring) with a black Copic MultiLiner (0.1). And then I fussy cut the image out leaving a small border.

For my background I choose a Marianne Design die with number LR0236: I used the largest die in this set to die cut a frame from some linen textured purple coloured card stock. Then I die cut two of the filigree work elements: one from the same Stratmore Toned Tan paper that I used before and one from vellum (the vellum creates a slightly lighter background for my coloured image). These two matching panels I adhered together using see through tape runner (but only in the middle so that the sides peek up a little (hard to see in the pictures but in real life it’s really pretty) and adhered these combined layers to the purple mat that I die cut before, using liquid glue.
To bring back in some of the pink from the coloured image I die cut a rectangle panel from some matching pink toned patterned paper (featuring flowers and lace) and adhered the filigree panels to the rectangle panel using one millimetre thick foam tape. Then I stamped a sentiment with the words “Happy Mother’s Day“ using an alphabet stamp set that I bought on Etsy years ago. I die cut around this sentiment using the middle sized die in the Lawn Fawn “Everyday Sentiment Banners“ die set and edged with Distress ink in the colour “Picked Raspberry“ using a foam applicator tool.
Then I adhered the banner to the project using see through tape runner and then adhered all these combined layers to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And to finish this fun card I only have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut image to the card using one millimetre thick foam tape.
I hope you enjoyed and I wish you’ll a creative day!
