Unicorn Wishes

Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals

Hi everyone, today I would like to show you my take on the Lindy’s Stamp Gang May Challenge mood board. The colour combination and graphic made me think of unicorns so I decided to create a birthday card for my four year old niece using Lindy’s products!

This is what this month’s mood board looks like:

Let's get started!

Impression Obsession Beauty Text

Step 1:

I die cut a square panel slightly smaller then the largest mat that I will use on my card base. For this I choose watercolour paper. On this square panel I first stamped two of the sentiments from the StampingBella “Unicorn Sentiments“ stamp set using Archival Ink in the colour “Jet Black“ and my MISTI and then I used the same black ink to stamp part of the Impression Obsession “Beauty Text“ background stamp on this panel.

Step 2:

Now I’m going to ad colour to this background panel: for this I choose a Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in the colour “Danny zuko’s Denim“ and Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in the colour “French Lilac Violet”, working in layers that I dried in between.

Step 3:

Then I stamped the unicorn image from the same StampingBella stamp set on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper and I coloured her with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals in the colours “Steel Shimmer“ and “Hi Maintenance Magenta“. I added some of the powder to my glass work surface and sprayed with water and then painted the image until I was happy! When this had dried I fussy cut the unicorn.

The Crafter's Workshop stencil Twinkle

Step 4:

To create more interest in the background I decided to apply some The Crafter’s Workshop “Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste“ over a The Crafter’s Workshop stencil called “Twinkle“ (TCW2163), using a palette knife, and after removing the stencil (the modeling paste is still wet) I put some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Embossing Powder in the colour “Magic Moon Pearls“ over the modeling paste and let that dry. When the modeling paste was dry I heated the embossing powder to melt it. This creates an awesome shine on my little stars!

Step 5:

Now I’m ready to put my project together: I die cut a slightly larger mat from some matching pink card stock and I edged this square panel with Archival Ink ink in the colour “Cactus Flower“ using a foam applicator tool. Then I adhered the two square panels together using liquid glue. These combined panels I adhered to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape and then all I have to do is to adhere my little unicorn on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that’s it for today’s fun little project! I wish you a creative day!
