Vintage Birthday Card using Gilding Wax

Hi everyone, today I’m showing you my take on the June Challenge for “Het SU-per Team“ (this is a Dutch Facebook challenge group managed by a team of Stampin‘Up demonstrators, so you have to use at least one Stampin‘Up item on your project).

This month’s challenge is to only use black, white and one other colour on your card design and the additional colour I choose is gold.

I started my card by die cutting a rectangle stitched panel that will be my smallest mat, using one of the dies in the Crealies stitched rectangle nesting die set from black card stock. This black panel I run through my Sizzix Big Shot with the Stampin‘Up Textured Impressions Embossing Folder called “Arrows“.

Next I’m going to apply some gilding wax over the raised arrows design using Treasure Pewter and Pebeo “King Gold“ gilding was, this creates an awesome metallic shine on my card.

Then I’m die cutting a slightly larger mat from some black shiny card stock ad adhere both panels together using liquid glue.

On a strip of paper I stamped one of the sentiments from the Leonie Pujol stamp set called “Message Ribbon“ several times, using Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink, until I had a strip with two rows of sentiments all saying Happy Birthday. This strip I’m wrapping around the two combined panels that I created before, and I adhered the strip on the back of the panels using regular tape, and this combination I then adhered to my linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

From the same paper I die cut a smaller rectangle panel and on this panel I stamped one of the vintage cars from the Joy! Crafts “Retro Cars“ stamp set using the same black ink as before and all I have to do now is to adhere this smaller panel to my card using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that’s it for today’s vintage masculine birthday card! I wish you a creative day!
