Guest Design Project Graciellie Design: Flowery Christmas Card

Hi everyone, today I would like to show you my first guest design project for Graciellie Design for the month of September! I designed a Christmas card using lots of new digital stamp sets by Graciellie Design.

Let’s get started!

Step 1:

I started my project by printing a couple of different images: I used the flower image (printed in two different sizes) from the new “Harvest Blessings“ digital stamp set, I used the leaves (printed in three different sizes) from the recent August release “Obsessively Grateful“ digital stamp set and the sentiment is from the new “Christmas Cheer“ digital stamp set. In printed on Copic friendly paper.

I die cut the sentiment using a stitched circle shaped die. Then I started colouring all the leaves and flowers using my Copic markers in pink and turquoise.

I used the following colours: RV10, RV52, RV06, RV55, RV19, BG000, BG53, BG07, BG78 and B99.

Step 2:

When the colouring is done I fussy cut all the flowers and leaves using my Fiscars scissors. Then I go over the remaining visible lines around the flower images using a white Gelly Roll pen to sort of erase them. And I also ad in some details in the coloured area’s using the same white Gelly Roll pen and a silver coloured Edding Marker.

Step 3:

Next I’m going to work on my background design: I wanted to ad in some wintery elements for a more Christmassy look. So I die cut a square panel from the same white linen textured card stock that I will use for my card base. Then I place a The Crafter’s Workshop stencil (TCW720s) over the panel and then apply Archival Ink in the colour “Forget-Me-Not“ over the stencil openings using a foam applicator tool.

Step 4:

My other wintery element is adding some die cut snowflakes, which also matches the background design nicely! I die cut two different sized snowflakes several times from Strathmore “Toned Tan“ paper using a Crealies “Duo Dies nr. CLDD49“ die set. Then I edged all the snowflakes with a Prima Marketing “Metallic Chalk Edger in Bronze“ for a slightly more defined edge.

Step 5:

Now I’m ready to put my card together. I first die cut a square dusty dark pink panel, slightly larger then the snowflake panel. Then I adhered the two square panels together using liquid glue. These combined panels I adhered to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. Then I created the design that I liked on top, using all the elements the I prepared before. I adhered all the elements using foam tape and liquid glue and set it aside to dry!

And that finishes today’s fun Christmas card project!

I wish you’ll a creative day!
