Lindy’s Stamp Gang February Color Challenge

Hi everyone, today I would like to show you my take on the Lindy’s Stamp Gang February Color Challenge Mood Board. This is what this month’s colours look like:

Don’t these colours call for a fun Spring card?

So, let’s get started!

Step 1:

I started my project by stamping the Garden Girl Sweetpea by Stampingbella onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear heat embossing afterwards using Lindy’s Stamp Gang "Clearly Clear" Embossing Powder. This way my lines stay black and crisp, no matter how much water I add.

Step 2:

Next I’m going to colour my stamped imaged using a variety of Lindy’s Stamp Gang colours and a small brush. When I use Magicals I transfer the powder to my palette using a fan brush and then ad water. For the sprays I just spray a little in the palette after shaking the bottle to mix the shimmer particles with the liquid.

For this image I used: Lindy’s Stamp Gang Spray in "French Lilac Violet" (one of my favourite purple colours in the LSG range), Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals in "Sandra Dee Sepia" and "C’est la vie Cerise" and Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shaker in "Oom Pah Pah Pink".

I worked in layers, drying in between with a heat tool, darkening as often as needed and paying attention to where the light would hit naturally!

When ready I added in some extra highlights using a white Gelly Roll Pen and then I fussy cut around the image leaving a small border.

Step 3:

Now I’m going to work on the rest of my card: I die cut a rectangle panel, two sizes smaller then my card base, from some watercolour paper. Then I looked for some lace in my stash, decided on my lay out and stamped the sentiment using Archival ink in Jet Black and a Simon Says Stamp stamp set called Tiny Words.

Then I adhered the lace to the panel using The Crafter’s Workshop Matte Gel Medium and a brush. I waited for the gel medium to dry and when dry I wrapped the lace around the back and adhered there using regular tape.

Now I’m going to colour the lace and part of the background, focussing on the right hand side, using Lindy’s Stamp Spray in Gang "Azure Sea Asters" and a brush. I worked in layers, drying in between with a heat tool. When ready I spattered with the same colour and brush for a fun background effect. I love this gorgeous bright blue colour!

Step 4:

All I have to do now is to die cut a slightly larger panel from some matching mint green card stock and adhere the different layers together on my crème coloured linen textured card base. I adhered the mint green panel using liquid glue. Then I adhered the watercolour panel on top of that using one millimetre thick foam tape. I adhered the sweetpea image on top using liquid glue and one millimetre thick tape. And to finish my project I added some Pretty Pink Posh "Sparkling Clear Sequins" in different sizes using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.
