2022 Mother’s Day Card

Hi everyone, now that we have had Mother’s Day in the Netherlands I can show you the card that I created for my mother. Let’s get started!

Step 1:

I started my project by stamping this older Crealies stamp (CLRS05) onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper using black ink, directly afterwards I heat embossed using clear embossing powder. You get the best results when you use an anti-static powder tool before stamping the image!

Now I can start colouring the image: I used a couple of SN Aqua Markers for today’s project, in combination with an aqua brush. I used the colours Gold, Marigold and Orange for the flower, Forest for the leaves and around the image I coloured using Tulip and Sage.

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen and I fussy cut the image leaving a small border.

Step 2:

For my background I die cut a rectangle panel two sizes smaller than my card base. Onto this panel I stamped one of the sentiments from the Clearly Besotted “Brushed Sentiments” stamp set using black ink.

Next I applied some glitter paste over a stencil using a palette knife and let that dry. For my glitter pastes I today used Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium in “Sage Green” and Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste in “Frosty Blossom” and my stencil is by Sandra’s Hobbyshop (nr 056).

Step 3:

I also die cut a slightly larger rectangle panel from matching light orange card stock and adhered both rectangle panels together using liquid glue. Around this combination I wrapped a torn piece of vellum and adhered on the back using regular tape. This combination with the vellum I than adhered onto my white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And to finish my card I now only have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut image on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s mother’s card project! I wish you a creative day!
