Hi everyone, today I would like to share an art journal page in my Art by Marlene middle sized journal with you all.

Step 1:
I started my project by stamping several of the flower images from the ABM “Frida’s Flowers” stamp set as well as one of the butterflies from the ABM “Embrace Change” stamp set onto ABM paper using black ink and I heat embossing directly afterwards using clear embossing powder.
Now I can colour my images using the ABM Bold & Bright watercolour set in combination with water and a brush. After the colouring is done I add back in some highlights using a white gel pen and I decide on my background colour and apply a little around the image (this is not visible in the picture yet) and I fussy cut the images leaving a small border.

Step 2:
For my background I take a page from the journal, stamp my sentiment (this one is by Stampendous, don’t know the name) using waterproof black ink and apply modeling paste over a stencil using a palette knife and let that dry. Today’s stencil is ABM “Bold & Bright”.

Step 3:
Now that the background is dry I’m adding colour and today I’m using a Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in “Cocklebells Coral”. I apply the pigment powder to the paper using a fan brush an spray with water which makes the colour run. When I’m happy with how it looks I dry the paper with my heat tool. This I repeat until the page looks the way I want it.
Next I create splatters using a Coliro Pearl color in “Blue Silver” using a brush and let that dry.

Step 4:
To put my page together I now only have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut images on top using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s art journal page! I wish you a creative day!
