Art by Marlene Journal Page: Wings

Hi everyone, today I would like to share another art journal page in my Art by Marlene middle sized journal with you all.

Step 1:

I started my project by stamping several of the flower images from the ABM “Romantic Florals” stamp set, the leaf images from the ABM “Floral Simplicity” stamp set and the butterfly from the ABM “Bold Butterflies” stamp set onto ABM paper using black ink and I heat embossed directly afterwards using clear embossing powder.

Next I coloured the images using the ABM Bold & Bright watercolour set in combination with water and a brush. I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen and I decided on my background colour and coloured around the image (not visible in the picture yet) and I fussy cut the images leaving a small border.

Step 2:

For my background I took a page from the journal and stamped my sentiment using waterproof black ink (this sentiment if from the ABM “Embrace Change” stamp set) and I applied some modeling paste over a stencil using a palette knife and let that dry. Today’s stencil is by ABM called “Daisies”.

Step 3:

For my background colour I picked a Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in “Curiouser Chartreuse”. I applied the colour to my page using a fan brush and sprayed with water which makes the colour run. When I’m happy with how it looks I dry the page with my heat tool. I work on the page until I’m completely happy with how it looks.

Next I create splatters using a Coliro Pearl colour in “Moss Green” in combination with a brush and let that dry.

Step 4:

Putting my page together is easy: I just have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut images on top using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s project! I wish you a creative day!
