Celebrate you!

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing another fun birthday card with you all!

I started my project by stamping one of the images from the WPlus9 stamp set called “Flora & Fauna 3” onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper using a juicy black ink and heat embossing directly afterwards using a clear embossing powder. This way my lines stay black and crisp no matter how much water I add.

Now I can colour the image using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in combination with my water brush. I used the following colours: Ever Green, Moss Green, Peach Pink, Red Grape, Bordeaux Red, Mid Brown, Mustard, Bright Yellow and Aquamarine Blue. After the colouring was done and dry I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen and I fussy cut the image leaving a small border.

Time to work on my background: I die cut a rectangle panel two sizes smaller than my card base and I stamped my sentiment using a black ink. Today’s sentiment is from the Kaisercraft “Background Birthday Sentiments” stamp set.

Next I placed my stencil of choice (Studio Light MASKSL60) over the panel and I applied some VersaMagic “Aegean Blue” ink over the stencil using a stencil brush. I also added some splatters using a Coliro Pearl Colour in “Blackberry” and let that dry.

Finishing the card is easy: I die cut a slightly larger rectangle panel in a matching olive green colour and adhered both rectangle panels together using liquid glue. Next I adhered this combination onto a cream coloured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And to finish the card I now only have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut image on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s fun card project! I wish you a creative day!
