Crealies: Greetings card project

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing my last project for this years guest design series for Crealies with you all, and today I’m creating this fun greetings card (with a Dutch sentiment for a change).

Step 1:

To get my project started I stamped the largest stamp in the new Crealies “Flower Bouquet A” stamp set four times onto alcohol marker friendly paper using alcohol proof ink.

Next I die cut the matching die (CLPMD01) from another piece of paper, this will be my template. Now I can place my template over the stamped design and adhere using removable low tack tape. Place the die into the template (adhere with removable low tack tape if you like) and you can die cut the flower bouquet without any white edges!

Step 2:

For a nice finished look (and because my background will be coloured) I used the side of fat nib from a Memento Dual Marker (which is alcohol proof) to blacken the edges of each stamped and die cut flower image.

Step 3:

Using one of the dies from the Crealies Crea-Nest-Lies XXL nesting die set nr. 22 I die cut a square shape two sizes smaller than my card base from light teal coloured card stock.

Onto this panel I decided what my lay out would be and stamped the Crealies “Groetjes (omlijning)” (Greetings in English) stamp using VersaMark ink (which is sticky) and heat embossed using Ranger “Gold” Super Fine Detail embossing powder. You get the best results if you use an anti-static powder tool on the paper before stamping.

To create a bit more interest in the background I stamped some single flowers using a few of the stamps from the Crealies “Flowers A” stamp set. I stamped using VersaMark ink and heat embossed with the same gold embossing powder that I used on the sentiment.

To colour in the Greetings text I used some Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers in BT6 and BT8. Be careful with the markers in combination with the embossing powder, they don’t go well together. With the lightest of these two colours I also filled in the white areas’ between the stamped flowers/leaves.

Step 4:

Time to colour in the flower images: for this I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers: PV1 and LV2 for the flowers, FS9, TN5, RB2, GG3 and BT4 for the leaves and GB4 in combination with a SN Classique marker in GY05 for the hearts of the flowers.

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

Step 5:

Time to put my card project together: I die cut a slightly larger square panel using one of the dies from the Crealies Crea-Nest-Lies nesting die set nr. 8 from matching pinkish purple card stock. I adhered both square panels together using liquid glue. This combination I can adhere onto a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And to finish my project I now only have to adhere the coloured and die cut flowers on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today! I wish you a creative day!
