Hi everyone, today I would like to show you this fun Christmas card set which is totally suitable for the men in your life! Recently I started creating more projects using design paper and I figured this die set by Clearly Besotted would work nicely in combination with that.
In combination with the die set, I used some fun Christmas inspired images for my backgrounds. For the first card I first die cut the sentiment window reading Christmas (using one of the dies in the Clearly Besottted die set “Shaker Shapes Merry Christmas Die Collection”) from yellow design paper. Around this window I next die cut a rectangle shape using a stitched rectangle nesting die two sizes smaller than my card base. Next I cut the Christmas image to size so that it fits behind the window.
For my second card I die cut the sentiment window reading Merry (from the same die set) from another design paper. These papers are older, no longer available, use any paper you have and that fits the colours in the Christmas image nicely. Around the sentiment window I die cut a square shape using a square stitched nesting die, two sizes smaller than my card base. I also cut the owl image to size.
For the rest of my sentiments I used stamps from the Lili of the Valley stamp set “Christmas Handwritten Phrases” (I think this set is no longer available, use any stamp set that you have and that combines nicely with the die cut words). For the yellow card I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and heat embossed with WOW “Opaque Vanilla White” embossing powder. For the blue card I using WOW “Opaque Bright White” embossing powder. Next I cut the sentiments to size.
Now I can adhere the Christmas images behind the sentiment window using regular tape on the back. This combination I layered on a slightly larger panel (brown for the yellow card, and blue for the other card) and adhered with liquid glue. This combination I can adhere to my card base (creme for the yellow card and white for the blue card) using one millimetre thick foam tape.
And to finish these cards I now only have to adhere the sentiment strips using liquid glue and add some sequins in different sizes for some added sparkly interest.
And that is it for today’s masculine cards! I wish you a creative day!
