Gift Envelope with Tag

Hi everyone, today I would like to show you this cute gift idea. I don’t like to just give money in a plain envelope, so I designed and decorated this one combining different elements and brands. The colouring of the focal point is done with the Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers.

Step 1:

I started my envelope gift project by tracing the designs for the envelope and the tag onto design paper using the stencils from the Dutch Doobadoo “Envelope Art + Tag” set (470.713.030). I rounded the bottom edges of the tag using a punch.

I also used one of the dies from the Studio Light Essentials STENCILSL277 die set to die cut the pocket that I adhered onto the tag later on.

Step 2:

After folding the elements I edged all of the elements using the Spectrum Noir Harmony Water-Reactive ink pad in “Friar Brown” in combination with a Spectrum Noir “Blending Tool”.

Step 3:

Now I can put the envelope together and adhere the pocket on the tag using double sided tape. My base is now ready to decorate!

Step 4:

For my focal point I choose one of the monkey images from the SugarPea Designs stamp set called “Chunky Money” as well as the branch image and the little gift from the same stamp set. I stamped these three images onto Strathmore “Bristol Smooth Surface” paper using black ink and I clear heat embossed afterwards.

Now I’m ready to colour the images using my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers. For my first layer I used Spice for the inside of the ears, Chestnut for the monkey and Sunflower for the balloon, in combination with a water brush. I apply the colour directly to the paper (in the shadow area’s) and wash it outwards using the water brush.

Step 5:

For my second layer I used some Gold for the balloon, And Chestnut in combination with Fawn for the monkey. I add as many layers as I feel are necessary.

Step 6:

For more contrast I add some Chocolate in only the darkest area’s of the monkey and some Sage around the image. When the colouring is done I add some hightlights using a white gel pen and than I fussy cut the monkey leaving a small border.

Step 7:

For the little gift I used Spice and Gold and for the branch I used a combination of Clay and Evergreen.

All of the Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers that I used on today’s project are from the following sets: Essentials, Primary, Nature, Floral and Earth.

Step 8:

Onto the envelope I stamped my sentiment, which is also from the “Chunky Monkey” stamp set.

I die cut a doily from light pink card stock using the Joy Crafts Vintage Teaparty “Doily” die and adhered that onto the envelope using a small piece of foam tape.

Next I splattered onto the project using the Spectrum Noir Metallic Ink in “Ancient Bronze” and let that dry.

Step 9:

To finish the enveloppe I now only have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut images on top using liquid glue and foam tape and I adhered some sequins for a festive effect.

For the tag I die cut one leaf in the same pink card stock that I used for the doily and one from gold card stock (which is the same colour as the gold sequins). The leaf dies are from the My Favorite Things “Layered Leaves” die set. I adhered both leaves onto the tag using liquid glue.

I also adhered some matching pink/white backers twine and some brown twine on the top of the tag to finish it nicely.

And that is it for today’s project! I wish you a creative day!
