Jenine’s Mindful Art Guest Design Project: Butterfly Card

Hi everyone, today I would like to share this fun butterfly card project with you all!

Step 1:

I started my project by die cutting a square shape two sizes smaller than my card base from the JMA-WAC-MPP09 Mixed Paper Pad. I also die cut an ornament shape also using paper from the same paper pad and the Circle Ornament Frames (the middle sized ornament die from the JMA-ES-CD140 die set).

Step 2:

Next I die cut the butterflies I’m using on today’s card project and they are created using the STENCILJMA05 die set in combination with yellow toned card stock and vellum from the Mixed Paper Pad that I mentioned before.

Step 3:

Now I can pick my sentiment (which is from the JMA-ES-STAMP65 stamp set) and stamp it onto the ornament frame using black ink. I also die cut a slightly larger square panel from matching creme coloured card stock and adhere both square panels together using liquid glue. Around these combined panels I can than wrap my ribbon and adhere on the back using regular tape. This combination I adhered onto my yellow card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. The ornament frame with the sentiment is adhered on top next also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

Step 4:

To finish my project I can now adhere the butterflies on top using Ranger Medium Matte in the small bottle and I created a bow, using the same ribbon, and adhered that as well using the same Ranger Medium Matte liquid glue. On the bodies of the butterflies I applied some Stickles in Mercury Glass and let that dry well!
