Jenine’s Mindful Art Guest Project: Control What You Can

Hi everyone, today I would like to share this art journal spread with you all! I started my project by creating two pages in my journal using a JMA-WAC-SCRAP74 large design paper and cut this to size so that it fit’s my JMA Slim Line Art Journal.

Next I stamped a bunch of images using the JMA-ES-STAMP138 stamp set onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface Paper in combination with a juicy black ink and heat embossing directly afterwards using clear embossing powder. I coloured around the images using the JMA Studio Light Marker in Brown Grey and than fussy cut the images leaving a small border. Now I can create my lay out on both pages.

Next I can colour the images using some of the other JMA Studio Light Markers in combination with my water brush: Brown Grey, Sap Green, Pineapple and Tender Pink. After the colouring is done and dry I can add back in my highlights using a white gel pen.

Time to adhere the flowers and leaves to my pages using liquid glue and one millimetre thick foam tape, but I didn’t put glue all around the edges of my images since I wanted to be able to put some die cut elements behind them.

Using the swirly die in the JMA-ES-CD205 die set I cut some swirls from periwinkle blue card stock and I used the same card stock for my hole reinforcements (Crealies CLJP650) and adhered them onto my project using liquid glue. I also edged the journal pages using dark brown ink (in combination with a foam applicator tool).

And to finish the project I now only have to pick a quote from the STICKERJMA05 sticker book, adhere them onto a gold mirror card stock mat and adhere the quote onto the project using liquid glue.

And that is it for today’s fun art journal project! I wish you a creative day!
