Jenine’s Mindful Art: Guest Project: Layered Background Card

Hi everyone, today I would like to share this layered background card project with you all!

Step 1:

I started my project by die cutting a rectangle panel from white card stock one size smaller than my card base. Onto this panel I stamped the JMA Script & Splatter background stamp on a slight angle using brown ink.

Step 2:

Next I stamped the JMA Lace Magnolia’s onto watercolour paper using black ink and I heat embossed directly afterwards using clear embossing powder. Now I can colour the magnolia images using the Studio Light JMA Light Markers (which are water based markers) in combination with my water brush.

I used the following marker colours: Magenta Deep, Peony Deep, Sap Green and Burnt Orange. After the colouring is done and dry I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

Now I can cut the magnolia images using my scissors and and I darkened the edges using a black Memento Dual Marker.

Step 3:

To add my sentiment to the card project I created another layer: for this I stamped the sentiment from the JMA-ES-STAMP67 stamp set onto vellum using black ink and I heat embossed directly afterwards using clear embossing powder.

To make the sentiment stand out more against the brown script background I die cut a background shape using one of the dies in the STENCILJMA08 die set from matching pinkish purple card stock. This die cut element I adhered onto the script background using liquid glue.

Step 4:

Next I wrapped the vellum sentiment around the card panel and adhered on the back using regular tape. This combination I can now adhere onto my brown card base using one millimetre thick foam tape and to finish the project I can adhere the coloured magnolia’s onto the card project using one millimetre thick foam tape and adhere some sparkling clear sequins in different sizes using Ranger Medium Matte in the small bottle.
