Jenine’s Mindful Art Guest Project: Thankful

Hi everyone, today I’m showing you this (almost) no line watercolour project as my Jenine’s Mindful Art Guest Design Project for this week!

Step 1:

I started my project by stamping the flower image from the Jenine’s Mindful Art stamp set with number JMA-ES-STAMP68 onto Clairefontaine Paint On Multi-Techniques a Grain paper using InkOn3 No Line colouring ink. But, I think my stamp still contained a little bit of black ink and that is why my stamped image still shows some lines. I decided to work with what I had!

Today I’m colouring with my watercolour paints, mainly Daniel Smith and one Smincke, in combination with water and a small brush. The colouring part took me a good few hours but I totally love how the end result looks.

I used the following Daniel Smith watercolour paints: Quin. Coral, Quin. Gold, Quin. Burnt Scarlet, Indian Red, Carmine, Carb. Violet, Undersea Green;

And I also used Smincke Transparant Orange.

The reason I added in the Carb. Violet (purple) is because that way my coloured image went best with the design paper I’m going to work with.

Step 2:

I fussy cut the painted image leaving a small border and I picked a sheet of design paper from the Jenine’s Time to Relax paper pad: PPJMA11 and die cut it to the size that is two sizes smaller than my card base.

On the design paper panel I placed a stencil from the Warm & Cozy line (“Ornamental Leaves” JMA-WAC-MASK56) and applied some The Crafter’s Workshop White Pearl Modeling Paste over the stencil using a palette knife and set that aside to dry.

Step 3:

Time to put my project together: I die cut a slightly larger mat from deep red card stock and adhered both rectangle panels together using liquid glue. This combination I adhered onto my white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

To create a nice finishing touch I adhered some gold coloured metal twine from my stash onto this base using regular tape (making sure the tape is not visible when I add the flower image on top). Next I adhere the flower image using two millimetre thick foam tape and for my text I’m using one of the word stickers from the Jenine’s Time to Relax stickerbook (STICKERJMA05), matted on green card stock and adhered with one millimetre thick foam tape.
