Lindy’s Stamp Gang August Color Challenge

Hi everyone, today I would like to show you my inspiration for the Lindy’s Stamp Gang August Color Challenge mood board.

I love my bright colors so this one was quite hard for me, but, let’s get started!

Step 1:

I started my card project by die cutting a rectangle panel from watercolour paper, two sizes smaller than my card base. Onto this panel I first stamped my sentiment (from Whimsy Stamps) and than the “Honeycomb” design (by Kaisercraft). I used ink that stays wet a little bit longer (Versafine “Onyx Black”) and then I clear heat embossed using Lindy’s Stamp Gang “Clearly Clear” embossing powder.

Step 2:

Next I sprinkled some of the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical in “TiffanyLou’s Blue” onto my glass work surface and sprayed with water. I than picked up the colour with a small plastic sheet (you can use the packaging that stamps come in for this) and smooshed the color onto the paper. This technique is called “ink smooshing”. When I liked what I had I dried my panel. You can add more layers if you prefer!

Later on I splattered with some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Spray in “Cactus Gold” for some added fun interest in the background and draw over the honeycomb lines using a white gel pen (this faint design is only visible for you in the detail picture I think).

Step 3:

Now that my background is ready I stamped the bee image (from Cart-Us) onto some left over watercolor paper (twice) and also clear heat embossed this image using the previously mentioned Clearly Clear embossing powder.

I fussy cut the images and coloured them using the turquoise blue colour that I used before and also with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shaker in “Glittering Gold” in combination with water and a small brush.

I also applied a thin layer of Stickles “Star Dust” over the wings of the bees and let that dry.

Step 4:

Time to put my card together: I die cut a slightly larger rectangle panel from some matching card stock and adhered both panels together using liquid glue. This combination I adhered to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And to finish this card I now only have to adhere both bees to my card also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s card project! I wish you a creative day!
