LSG Vintage Christmas Card

Hi everyone, today I have this quick vintage Christmas card to show you all. All colours on today’s project are by Lindy’s Stamp Gang.

Step 1:

I started my card project by stamping the image from the Lili of the Valley stamp set called “Snow Shovel” onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper using Versafine “Onyx Black” ink and I clear heat embossed afterwards using Lindy’s Stamp Gang “Clearly Clear” embossing powder.

Next I die cut around the image using a rectangle stitched die and leaving room on the right hand side of the image to stamp my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment next to the image using one of the stamps in the Clearly Besotted “Christmas Type” stamp set using Archival “Jet Black” ink.

Now I’m ready to colour my image, which I will do with a couple of Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals, water and a small brush. I create a paint with each Magical by adding some of the powder to my palette using a fan brush and mix the powder with water.

I started with Azure Sea Asters for the sky and the glass objects in the image, using a light hand and washing the colour out with water. I used VERY little of the Salt Water Taffy for the skin, and toned it down later on with a little bit of the Dark Chocolate Truffle. I used Dark Chocolate Truffle also on the boots, the hat and the wooden elements. Next I used Steel Shimmer on the snow and the metal parts.

Step 2:

For the other elements that are not painted yet I picked the follwoing colours: Evergreen Emerald for the car and parts of the scarf, Ponderosa Pines Olive for the jacket and Tweedle Dee Denim for the trousers and parts of the scraf. I used a mixture of Steel Shimmer and Dark Chocolate Truffle for the tires of the car. When the colouring is done and the image is dry I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

Step 3:

Time to put my card together. I die cut another rectangle mat, one size smaller than my card base, from dark blue design paper and adhered both rectangles together using liquid glue. To finish my card I now only have to adhere this combination onto my creme coloured linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.
