Poppy Flowers

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing this flowery birthday card with you all!

I started my project by stamping the flower image from the Crafter’s Companion “You mean so much to me” stamp set onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper using a juicy black ink and heat embossing directly afterwards using a clear embossing powder. This way my lines stay black and crisp, no matter how much water I add.

Now I can colour the image and today I’m using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers in combination with a water brush. I’m using the following colours: Scarlet Red, Red, Wine Red, Yellow Green, Mid Gray, May Green and Green. After the colouring is done and dry I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen. Now I can die cut and fussy cut the image leaving a small border.

And now that my focal point is ready I can work on my background: for this I die cut a rectangle panel one size smaller than my card base from matching design paper from my stash. Onto this panel I stamp my sentiment, which is from the Crafter’s Companion “I’m so happy for you” stamp set.

Time to put my card together: for this I adhere the design paper sentiment background onto a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape and I can finish the card by adhering the coloured and fussy cut image on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s card project! I wish you a creative day!
