Sending Festive Cheer

Hi everyone, today I have this fun and quick Christmas card project to share with you all! Let’s get started!

Step 1:

I started my project by printing this digital image by The Paper Shelter called “Rooftop Party” onto alcohol marker friendly paper. Now I can start the colouring process, and today I’m using my Spectrum Noir original Tri-Blend markers.

For my reds I picked Pale Pink Shades (PP4 and PP5) and Dark Red Blend (DR1 and DR4).

For the brown nest area I picked Earth Brown Blend (EB1, EB3 and EB5).

For the moose I used the Gold Brown Blend and the Gold Brown Shades: GB1, GB3, GB5 and GB6.

For the green areas I picked the Jade Green Blend and the Jade Green Shades: JG1, JG3 and JG7.

For the birds I used all the colours in the Gold Yellow Blend as well as all the colours in the Burnt Orange Blend.

Remaining colours are coloured with the Ice Grey Blend (only IG2) and Ice Blue Blend (only IB1).

You can find all the Tri-Blend Markers that I used HERE!

After all the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen and I also fussy cut the image leaving a small border.

Step 2:

Now that my focal point is done I can create my background design: for this I die cut a rectangle panel two sizes smaller than my card base using white card stock. Onto this panel I stamped one of the sentiments from the Lili of the Valley stamp set called “Christmas Handwritten Phrases” using black ink.

Next I placed my stencil of choice (this one is TCW720s) over the panel and I applied some Spectrum Noir Water-Reactive ink in “Oasis” over the stencil using a stencil brush.

Step 3:

Time to put my card together: for this I die cut a slightly larger rectangle panel from matching red card stock and I adhered both rectangle panels together using liquid glue. This combination I adhered to my white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And to finish this card project I now only have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut image on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape!

And that is it for today’s colouring project! I wish you a creative day!
