Snappy Birthday

Hi everyone, today I have a masculine set of birthday cards to show you!

I started my project by stamping one of the images from the Art by Marlene “Life’s a Beach” stamp set onto Art by Marlene Essentials Allround Paper using black ink and heat embossing directly afterwards using clear embossing powder. Next I coloured the images using the Art by Marlene “Bold & Bright” watercolour set in combination with water and a brush.

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen and I fussy cut the images leaving a small border.

For my background I picked some design papers from my stash and after die cutting them to size (two sizes smaller than my card base) I stamped the background image from the Crafter’s Companion “Life’s a Beach” stamp set (how funny, two stamp sets with the same name in one project!) onto these panels using brown ink.

I also stamped my sentiment which is a combination of Lili of the Valley “Handwritten Phrases” and Clearly Besotted “Water Plushies” using black ink.

Time to put my card together: I die cut a slightly larger rectangle mat from matching deep red card stock and I adhered both rectangle panels together using liquid glue. This combination I adhered onto my linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And to finish my card I now only have to adhere the coloured and fussy cut image on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s project! I wish you a creative day!
