The Old Days Series: Wizard

Hi everyone, toady I would like to show you this fun masculine birthday card for which I used an amazing digital stamp by Mo’s Digital Pencil called “Wiz” (and as a bonus it comes with three different sentiments)! I love this image because the drawing is a magical creature, but he’s masculine enough for a guy card.

To get started I printed the wizard image as well as one of the sentiments together on some Copic friendly paper. I let the image sit for a while before I start colouring so that I know for sure that the ink is 100% dry!

My next step is to die cut around the image including the sentiment using a nesting die two sizes smaller then my card base.

Now the fun part can begin, which is the colouring process: for this of course I used my Copic Sketch markers, and when I was happy as my final step I added back in some highlights where I felt they were needed.

The hardest part of this image is colouring the orb, because it’s rounded, glass and there are reflections in it from the cloths the wizard wears (find an example on line if this helps you colouring the image correctly)!

I used the following colours of Copic markers: E42, E53, E44, E89, BG07, BG0000, BG01, N2, N3, N4, N6, G40, YG17, YG67, Y99, B21, B24, B37, B39, Y000, Y11, Y19, Y15, R00, E000, R01, E33.

When the colouring was done I die cut a mat for the coloured image using some shimmery dark blue coloured card stock that matches the colours in the coloured image. These two panels I adhered together using liquid glue.

And to finish this project I now only have to adhere this combination to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

I wish you a creative day!
