The Paper Shelter 11th Birthday Celebrations

Hi everyone, you probably came here via Granmargaret’s lovely blog, but if you haven’t you can visit her here!

Today I’m sharing with you my project for The Paper Shelter 11th Birthday Blog Hop! Yay!

You can find all the details for the current celebration challenge and the blog hop here!

I started my project by printing this digital image by The Paper Shelter called “Berry Delight” onto alcohol marker friendly paper. Since we are celebrating a cake seems appropriate!

Today I’m colouring with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers, each marker contains three alcohol markers colours from the same colour family. Today I used:

Ice Grey Blend, Burnt Orange Blend, Gold Yellow Blend, Gold Brown Blend, Gold Brown Shades, Pale Pink Blend, Pale Pink Shades, Dark Red Blend, Light Green Blend and Alpine Green Blend. I picked the green shades so they matched the design paper that I planned on using on my project.

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen. I die cut around the coloured image using a circle die from a nesting die set.

Next I die cut a square panel, from design paper from my stash, two sizes smaller than my card base. Onto this panel I stamped my sentiment (from the Clearly Besotted “Sweet Sentiments Plus” stamp set) using black ink.

Both the circle and the square panel I matted onto matching dark orange card stock and adhered the panels together using liquid glue. To finish the project I now only have to adhere the square combination onto a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape and adhere the circle combination on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.
