The Paper Shelter Challenge #467

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you my first project as a Design Team Member for The Paper Shelter (Team A). Today is also the start of this weeks challenge with the theme “A Birthday Card”. You can find all the details for the current challenge here!

I have been using the gorgeous images created by The Paper Shelter for some years now since they are stunning, very detailed and also very affordable, so I’m totally happy to finally be a part of the Design Team!

For today’s project I choose a digital image from The Paper Shelter called “Coconut”. I started my project by printing this image onto alcohol marker friendly paper.

After printing I die cut a rectangle shape around the image (two sizes smaller than my card base) and leaving room on the top for my sentiment. Next I stamped my sentiment and today I used a sentiment from the Clearly Besotted “Simply Said” stamp set, that I stamped above the image using black ink.

Now I can start colouring my image: for today’s project I’m using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers.

For skin I used: FS7, TN1, TN2 and CR1 (for blush);

For hair I used: FS3, CR5, CR11 and EB8;

For my purples I used: HB1, LV2, HB3, PL5 and some HB05 (which is a SN Classique marker);

For my greens I used: LG1, AG2, AG4 and JG7;

My yellow is: GY3;

For the coconut I used: RB2 and EB5;

And I used BT1 for colouring around the printed image as well as around the outer edge of this panel.

You can find all the Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers that I used on today’s project here!

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

The rest of the card is easy! I die cut a slightly larger rectangle panel from terracotta orange card stock and I adhered both rectangle panels together using liquid glue. This combination I adhered to a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And to finish the project I adhered some sparkling clear sequins in different sizes using Ranger Medium Matte in the small bottle.

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. And if you enter with a different brand image, you can still win three TPS digis of your choice (which you can then use to enter the next challenge, and so be eligible for the $30 voucher!).

And that is it for today’s fun colouring project! I wish you a creative day!
