Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you this weeks challenge project for The Paper Shelter Design Team and this weeks theme is “Christmas Card”. You can find all the details for the current challenge here!

Step 1:
I started my project by printing this digital image by The Paper Shelter called “Rooftop Party” onto alcohol marker friendly paper.
Now I know how large my circle die cut needs to be to create the look like the reindeer is looking through a window/frame towards us.
Next I die cut my rectangle panel one size smaller than my card base, this I die cut from design paper from my stash (I looked for background papers that could be a wall of some sorts). Onto this panel I stamped two sentiments from the Lili of the Valley stamp set called “Christmas Handwritten Phrases” using black ink. Out of the top half I die cut a circle shape using a circle shape nesting die set. This same circle die combined with a one size larger circle die I die cut from dark green card stock to create my window or frame.
Now I can adhere the green circle onto the rectangle frame using liquid glue and my background is ready!

Step 2:
Time to colour this totally cute image: today I’m using my Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers in combination with two Spectrum Noir Classique markers. Because my paper is very white I wanted to create a bit more of an aged look (that matched better with the design paper I picked). For this I used the Classique marker in CT05 in combination with the lightest colour in Gold Brown Blend TriBlend marker.
Other marker colours that I used are: Pale Pink Shades, Dark Red Blend, Earth Brown Blend, Tan Shades, Gold Brown Blend, Gold Brown Shades, Ice Grey Blend, Alpine Green Blend and the Light Green Blend marker. I also used the Classique RB05 marker.
After the colouring process is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

Step 3:
Finishing the project is really easy: I adhered the coloured image behind the rectangle panel using liquid glue and than I adhered this combination onto a rectangle creme coloured linen textured card base.
