The Paper Shelter Challenge #507

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you this weeks challenge project for The Paper Shelter Design Team and this weeks theme is “Easter Time”. You can find all the details for the current challenge here!

I don’t sent Easter cards, but nonetheless I found this particular image screaming Easter to me, so that is what I went with! I started my project by printing this digital image by The Paper Shelter called “Bunny Ears” onto alcohol marker friendly paper.

Now I can start the colouring process and for today’s project I’m using a combination of Spectrum Noir Classique and Illustrator alcohol markers.

For skin I used: Classique CR05 and Illustrator markers in FS7 and TN1;

For hair I used: Illustrator markers in FS9, GB2, GB6 and GB9;

Teal: Classique marker in AB05, Illustrator markers in AB1 and AB3;

Old rose: Classique marker in AP05, Illustrator markers in AP3 and AP4;

Chair: BG1, GB2 and BG4;

Metal part of the chair: IG1, IG2 and IG5;

Around the image I used the BG markers and a Classique marker in GY05.

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

Next I die cut around the image using a rectangle nesting die set by MFT.

For my background I picked a teal coloured design paper that matches the colours I used in the image nicely, making sure I picked a pattern that was not to dark, and die cut a rectangle shape two sizes smaller than my card base. I also die cut a matching rose gold mirror card stock panel in a slightly larger size and adhered both rectangle panels together using liquid glue. Onto the patterned paper I than stamped one of the sentiments from the Altenew “Birthday Builder” stamp set using black ink.

These combined panels with the stamped sentiment I adhered onto my white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape. And to finish my card I now only have to adhere the coloured image on top using liquid glue.
