Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you this weeks challenge project for The Paper Shelter Design Team and this weeks theme is “A Birthday Card”. You can find all the details for the current challenge here!
I started my project by printing this digital image by The Paper Shelter called “My Little Dragon Army” onto alcohol marker friendly paper. I die cut around the image using a square nesting die set and I used a die that is two sizes smaller than my card base.
Next I stamped my birthday sentiment on the left hand side using black ink and today’s sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted “Simply Said” stamp set.

Now I can start colouring the image and today I’m using my Spectrum Noir Classique and Illustrator alcohol markers.

The colours I used are:
For skin: Classique marker in CR05, Illustrators in FS7, TN1 and CR1 for blush;
Pinks and purples: Classique markers in PV05 and HB05, Illustrator markers in PV2, PV4, PL4, BP7, HB1, HB3 and LV3;
Greens: Classique marker in LG05, Illustrators in AG2 and AG4;
Browns and yellows: Classique marker in GY05, Illustrators in GB1, MB2, GB4, GY5, TN5, TN9 and EB7;
Greys: Illustrators in BG1, BG4, IG1, IG2, IG5 and IG6;
Around the image I coloured using the Classique marker in AB05.
And after the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

Finishing the card is easy: I die cut a slightly larger square panel from matching green card stock and adhered both square panels together using liquid glue. This combination I adhered onto a white linen textured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

And that is it for today’s card project! I wish you a creative day!
