The Paper Shelter Challenge #513

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you this weeks challenge project for The Paper Shelter Design Team and this weeks theme is “Embellishments”. You can find all the details for the current challenge here!

I started my project by printing this digital image by The Paper Shelter called “Vintage Seamstress” onto alcohol marker friendly paper. Next I die cut around it creating a rectangle shape, leaving enough room on the bottom to stamp my sentiment. The sentiment for today’s project is from the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set.

For my embellishments I picked some teal coloured buttons and created my lay out, in combination with a design paper that made me think about old fashioned fabric (this paper I die cut in a rectangle shape one size smaller than my card base).

Now I can start colouring the image: for today’s project I’m using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator and some Classique alcohol markers.

For skin I used: Classique marker in CR05, Illustrators in FS7 and TN1;

Yellow tones: Classique marker in GY05 and Illustrator marker in GY4;

Brown tones: FS9, GB1, GB7, GB9, RB2, TN9, EB8;

Orange tones: Classique marker in BO05, Illustrator markers in FS8, CR5 and BO4;

Teal tones: BT1, BT4, BT8 and BT9;

Grey tones: BG1, BG4 and BG7;

Around the image: Classique marker in AP05 and Illustrator in AP1.

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

Next I adhered the coloured image on top of my chosen design paper using liquid glue. This combination I adhered onto my white linen textured card base also using liquid glue. I adhered some twine on the buttons using a needle. And to finish the project I now only have to adhere the buttons onto the project using Ranger Glossy Accents (which can act as a strong glue).

So now it's your turn! Come and play with us over at The Paper Shelter, and you could win an amazing $30 gift voucher if you use an image from The Paper Shelter. And if you enter with a different brand image, you can still win three TPS digis of your choice (which you can then use to enter the next challenge, and so be eligible for the $30 voucher!).

That is it for today’s project! I wish you a creative day!
