The Paper Shelter Challenge #515

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you this weeks challenge project for The Paper Shelter Design Team and this weeks theme is “Flower Power”. You can find all the details for the current challenge here!

I started my project by printing this digital image by The Paper Shelter called “Adorable Dutch Girl” onto alcohol marker friendly paper.

Next I coloured the image using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator and Classique alcohol markers. I used the following colours:

Skin: Classique marker in CR05, Illustrators in FS7 and TN1;

Hair: GB1, GB2, GB5 and GB7;

White: BG2;

Black: IG2, IG6 and IG10;

Red: FS3, CR5 and CR10;

Blue: Classique marker in IB05, Illustrators in TB1, TB2, TB4 and TB6;

Green: LG3, LG5 and JG7;

Yellow: CT4, GB4 and GY3.

After the colouring is done I added back in some highlights using a white gel pen.

I fussy cut the image using my scissors and leaving a small border.

Now that my focal point is ready I can work on my background. For this I die cut a rectangle panel from white card stock one size smaller than my card base. Than I stamped my sentiment (Crafter’s Companion Collage Feathered Friend stamp set) on the left hand side of the panel using black ink.

Next I placed my stencil of choice (Studio Light MASKSL60) over the panel and applied some Spectrum Noir Water-Reactive Ink in Ocean Blue over the stencil using a stencil brush. And for my finishing touch I created splatters using a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Ink in Garden Green in combination with a brush.

I adhered the rectangle panel onto a craft coloured card base using one millimetre thick foam tape and I adhered the coloured and fussy cut image on top also using one millimetre thick foam tape.
