Quietfire and Butterflies

14 Jun 2017

Hi everyone, today I have a different set of cards then usual for you all! I have had these stamps from Quietfire Designs for ages now but I don’t really use them, but I felt like using them today.

To start my first card I stamped the saying on a piece of vellum using Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger “Liquid Platinum” embossing powder. The stamp I used is called “Wheresoever You Go”.

Next I cut a piece of patterned paper featuring muted flowers in different colours, I cut it a little wider then the vellum piece so that it peaks out from the sides and I cut it a little longer then the background piece I will use so I can fold it around the top and the bottom of the background piece. For my background I die cut a piece of olive green linen textured card stock in the size I want with one of my rectangle Crea-Nest-Lies XXL dies.

Then I adhered the muted flower piece on the olive green piece with one millimetre thick foam tape and folded the top and bottom to the back and taped them down with regular tape. For my next step I splattered on some FineTec Pearlcolor in the colour “Moon Gold” (one of my favourite colours from FineTec) and sat it aside to dry.

In the meantime I die cut a couple of butterflies with a Joy Crafts die set (6002/0322) from shiny pink card stock and vellum. After drying I wrapped the vellum piece with the saying over the flower piece and adhered it to the back with regular tape. Then I adhered the olive green piece with both wrappers around it to a crème coloured linen textured card base with one millimetre thick foam tape.

For my finishing details I adhered the butterflies in layers on each other (for the two bigger butterflies) and adhered the butterflies to the card with Ranger Medium Matt. I also put some Stickles in the colour “Platinum” over the body of the butterflies. And that finishes the first card.

On my second card I used the Quietfire Designs stamp called “If nothing ever changed”, some muted patterned paper featuring sunflowers and also some matte gold card stock (for the butterflies). My background is a dark aubergine/red card stock.

And that finished today’s cards! I wish you all a creative day.
