Calender Month Series - November

8 Nov 2017

Hi everyone! Wow, winter arrived where I live, I don't think I'm ready yet though, last week we had nice temperatures still and today it's below zero!

Anyway, today I have what is the eleventh Calender Month page in this Series for you'll: to be honest, I made this page about a year ago when I did have the idea to decorate my craft room with this Calender project but I didn’t had the idea to make it into a Series for my blog. Since I created this page a year ago I don’t really remember all the materials that I used but I’ll try to recap as best as possible. What today’s project also shows is how much your colouring skills can develop in one year time. I didn’t have my Zig Markers that long when I coloured this page, so I wasn’t very experienced with them and hair and skin was obviously even more difficult to colour back then, then I feel it’s now. Practising with the materials I have for one year developed my skills a lot I feel, and that’s why it’s so much fun to look back at this page, now one year later!

This page is giving me a warm grey/light taupe colour and a dark blue to work with.

To get this page started I stamped the “Winter Fairy“ stamp from Whimsy Stamps onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper using Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink and clear heat embossing afterwards. I coloured the image with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and using may Pentel Aquabrush, I don’t remember the colours that I used, so sorry for that! I put some Stickles in the colour “Star Dust“ on the fairy’s wings using a brush and washing the brush afterwards, because Stickles are tacky.

When the image was dry I die cut around it using a fairly large rectangle die. On the edge I stamped with the Viva Decor stamp set called “Floral Embellishments“ and using a Prima Metallic Chalk Edger in the colour “Platinum“ (I know this one colour because it’s my favourite of the Prima inks that I own). I also die cut a slightly larger stitched mat from some deep red card stock and I adhered the coloured panel on there using liquid glue.

Then I started working on the background: I cut a piece of patterned paper in a matching colour and edged that with red coloured ink. I also die cut two other rectangle mats, one in dark blue from some slightly shimmery card stock and a slightly larger one from dark green card stock. The blue panel I ran through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder from ScrapBerry’s called “Leaves“. Those panels I also adhered together using liquid glue.

Next I put everything together: I adhered the blue/green combined panels onto the bigger panel. I found some matching blue ribbon in my stash that I wrapped around and tied on the front. Then I adhered the coloured image with the red mat on top using one millimetre foam tape and liquid glue and to finish this months Calender page I adhered some matching blue metallic sequins in different sizes using Ranger Medium Matte.

Only one more page to go .........

I hope you enjoyed and I wish you all a creative day!
